Order Tracking gives people the ability to view the status of their order to determine delivery times and obtain tracking information for items that are in transit.
Currenty, Tracking must be enabled by a Distributor or SE Salesperson. Once Tracking has been enabled against a project, the customer with whom a project BOM has been shared will then be able to see a related tracking button for that project.
The process starts be entering the 8 digit order reference number.
If the project has not be shared using the share "Share BOM" function, the Distributor will be asked to supply the 5 digit account reference for the ordering location.
If the accounts and order information are matched, the user will be presented with the current order tracking information screen.
Because there are 100's of carriers whose websites are frequently changing, it may not be possible to full automate the tracking number link to the carrier's website. When only the carrier's website is available, the carrier will show as a link. The user may in some cases have to manually copy the tracking number and paste into the carriers website. In some cases where special handling, etc may exist, the user may see a "Contact Distributor" note rather than the Tracking link (this is generally rare). The customer will see the same Tracking screen as shown above. However, just remember that the customer will not see any button to open the screen until a Distributor or SE Salesperson has performed the 8 digit order entry as described earlier above.
